Someone describes how they had only called for advice about an issue and the AA sent someone out to fix the problem, while another says their car was back on the road within 40 minutes of calling for assistance. Another positive seems to be the fact that membership gives you discounts, while you can gain access to offers via the website.

Please inform The AA that we will not be using them in future for any form of insurance / breakdown cover because I believe we have been conned by the erroneous offer of a £20 discount. Also, I do not believe that we are the only ones that have been conned as proven by the comments.

No payout and difficult to leave
I'm just coming to the end of my 12 months car insurance and breakdown cover from AA. The £20 cashback sat pending for a few weeks after I took out the policies, but was declined and never paid out. I now see that the AA site on TCB actually states that it's not unusual for this vendor - so definitely don't take out a policy with AA if you're doing it to get the cashback, view it as a nice extra if you're lucky enough to get it paid. Plus the insurance renewal I recently received from AA had gone up around 50% from last year, so as I was able to get much lower from other insurers, I phoned to cancel. I was waiting to speak to someone for 20 minutes, then once they eventually cancelled the insurance, they said even though the breakdown cover had come as a bundle with the insurance, I needed to speak to another department .... so another 10 mins waiting, lots of questions when it was eventually answered, only to be told, no it's someone else again who needs to cancel it, and they'll transfer me again. I said I had to get back to work and could they phone me late afternoon the next day as my PAYG phone had already taken a hit with all the time on hold. They agreed, and said I'd get a call at 3pm. Of course they phoned me in the morning when I was working, and just left a message saying I had to phone them. Is it all just a scam to make people give up and allow the auto renew to go through? All I know is that I won't touch AA again.

Cashback is wrong
Purposely added extra AA cover options to get £165 cashback (I spent £259.12 - and you needed to spend £250+) - but I only received a cashback of £95 as if i've spent £200 to £249.99. £70 has gone astray! Will be cancelling it in the 14 day cool off period if its not sorted and i'll take less cover at a cheaper price.

2nd time no cashback
Auto renew they charge you circa £250 switch between providers and comeback for £108 AND they promise £54.50 cashback. but for the 2nd time in a row AA dont give cashback. Didnt have this problem with RAC and other sites all tracking normally Avoid this timewaste. Go elsewhere.

compeletly not happy because wronf cashback ammount.
I requested many times to tell the top cashback team to correct the cashback amount but they didn't help me at all I have been using top cashback for a long time but with this experience, I am very disappointed. still, I am requesting the top cashback team to pay me the correct amount. hope for a positive reply.

Fails to track.
Twice I have bought AA breakdown cover through Topcashback and both times the transaction did not track. AA did pay out eventually after i submitted a claim.

Don’t get your hopes up
Bought policy in November a month later not tracking not even pending. TopCashBack say they will chase it in March! AA say nothing to do with them. Total joke.

Don't trust the offer - deceitful
The offer was £79 on policies costing over £200. I paid £204 and was awarded £29 cashback. I have started a claim so will see how that goes. I could have saved more through other means if I had not gone through Top Cashback.

Six years on and AA still haven't honoured cashback
Despite submitting a missing cashback claim and Topcashback keeping in touch with me to update me on their discussions with AA, no cashback has been forthcoming. Suffice to say I haven't bought an AA policy since and will not do again unless there is a compelling reason to do so...

Declined at every chance
Made the mistake of attempting to get cashback from AA, they just declined at every chance despite reading the terms multiple times and not seeing any valid reason for them to do so. Avoid, there are better breakdown providers on TCB

WARNING -- DECLINES CASHBACK, NO REASON GIVEN, DOESN'T ALLOW APPEALS!
I went through all the correct procedures as I do with every other retailer to get the cashback deal with the AA for my breakdown cover. It was declined, no reason given. I tried to lodge an appeal against this but they don't allow appeals. Submitted a ticket to TopCashback and they confirmed there is nothing they can do as it is an AA decision not to allow appeals or reviews and they had no info about why it was declined either (website visit had tracked and I had the purchase confirmation and so on!). This is quite frankly disgusting behaviour from AA. Don't fall for it!

took out my breakdown policy in 2020. Note 3 whole years later and still no cashback. If your motivation for buying the cover is for the cashback, don't bother. Everytime I chase it I am met with a 'sorry we are working on it' response. Nonsense

AVOID. Really poor service. 2nd failed cashback claim with AA with no clear explanation despite it tracking initially and me supplying the membership number and proof of policy. Complete waste of time.
