Aer Lingus is an anglicisation of the term aerloingeas, which means ‘air fleet’. The airline was founded by the Irish government in 1936 and is the flag carrier airline of Ireland.

The oneworld alliance brings together 15 of the world’s leading airlines and around 30 affiliated carriers.
