Argus provide a comparison of car hire companies in more than 174 countries worldwide. They provide you with the opportunity to pick up a hire car in 30,000 locations, including airport and city centre destinations. Whether you need one for family holidays or business trips, you can rent a vehicle in UK destinations such as London, Belfast and Liverpool.

If you are planning to travel to Europe, you can pick up a car in places in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Greece, including Malaga, Paris, Milan, Lisbon and Athens, while if you have booked flights to visit somewhere a little further afield, you can arrange car rental in countries such as the USA, Australia and South Africa.

Argus compare rates from suppliers like Alamo, Europcar, Budget, National and Avis, meaning you can choose from an extensive range of holiday autos.

If you are going to be dashing around a city, you can opt for a compact, economy or automatic, while they can also provide you with SUVs and seven-seaters if you are travelling with a large family.

If it is for a special occasion or you are meeting important business clients, then why not hire yourself a luxury car? Whatever you are looking for, you will find options for all needs and budgets.

Optional Extras

The range of optional extras available to you will depend on the individual car rental agent, while even when you book them online, they are not guaranteed.

As well as being able to add another driver, the range of optional extras you may be able to choose from include booster, toddler and infant car seats, sat nav systems, Wi-Fi access and roof racks, while if you are going on a skiing trip, you can arrange for a ski rack, snow chain set or snow tyres.

Most optional extras are not included in the rental price and the fees will be displayed in the Rental Conditions at the time of booking. Extras can be purchased when you book or at the rental desk, while they can also be reserved through the online portal once you have made a booking.

Price Guarantee

Should you find a lower price for an identical booking, no matter the car, destination or currency, Argus will refund you the difference.

All you will need to do is send them all the information regarding the cheaper price by email - the address of which you will find on the Price Guarantee page of the website - and they will replicate the search before getting back to you within 48 hours.

As well as sending them your name, email address and booking number (if you have already made one), you will also have to tell them the name of the provider, the complete address of the competitor's website, the date of the quote and the pick up and drop off location, date and time.

Argus will also need details of the competitor vehicle model, the price and currency, excess, mileage policy and car category, as well as the fuel policy and type. Other terms and conditions apply - please see the Argus website for details.

Cancellation & Refunds

You can cancel up to 24 hours before your pick up and receive a full refund, while if it is less than 24 hours in advance, they will give you a refund minus 50 Euros for fully prepaid bookings.

If your online payment is less than 50 Euros, you will not receive a refund, while the cancellation policy will automatically apply to bookings made less than 24 hours before pick up. Cancellations should be made via the Argus online portal, but should you cancel with the car hire agent on arrival, you will also need to inform Argus of this change.

Making changes to your booking or cancelling optional extras may not be possible less than 24 hours before pick up. For Hertz, Dollar or Thrifty bookings, you can cancel for free within seven days of the booking being made, otherwise you will be charged a 55 Euro fee.

You will not receive a refund if you do not inform Argus of your cancellation prior to your pick up time, you fail to pick the car up at the arranged time and date, you fail to provide the required documentation or you fail to provide a credit card in the main driver's name with enough available funds on it.
