How does it work?
After you purchase Rapid Diagnostics cover, you’ll pay a monthly premium. You can then use the service if you’re worried about a health issue and want an answer fast.
The first step is to speak to a GP. Unlimited access to a virtual GP service is included with Rapid Diagnostics, so you can either make an appointment for a consultation or, if you prefer, make an appointment with your own GP in the usual way.
If you need a test, the virtual GP will be able to refer you immediately, or if you see your own GP, you’ll just need to upload a referral form to your online account page.
Within 48 hours of your GP referral confirmation, you’ll be able to attend your test appointment — just tell Lime when and where is most convenient.
After your diagnostic test, your results will be sent to you and your NHS GP fast — typically within three working days.
That’s it. There’s nothing extra to pay, no receipts to upload and no waiting around.

You can manage everything 24/7 via your Lime online account.
You’ll never need to pay anything other than your agreed monthly premium, there’s no excess and you won’t need to wait to be reimbursed because no money changes hands. Lime take care of everything.
You can access up to £2,250 worth of diagnostic tests per policy year in the first two years (your maximum benefit allowance). This increases to £3,000 in year three and £3,750 in year five.
Tests include X-ray, MRI, MRI with contrast, ECG, EECG, CT, CT with contrast and ultrasound.
Premiums are taken on a monthly basis and you have 14 days (cooling off period) to change your mind.
It’s incredibly quick and easy to get a quote, and the price you see is the price you’ll pay every month until your policy renews or you decide to cancel, which you can do at any time without penalty.
Instead of paying an excess and to avoid annoying paperwork, Lime use something called a waiting period at the start of the policy.
This means you just need to wait 60 days from the day you purchase until you can use the policy for the first time. After that, you’re good to go.
