A few weeks ago, TopCashback teamed up with Jacamo to offer our members the opportunity to ask Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff some questions. We’re delighted to say that he’s answered a whole lot of them for us. Here’s our photo of the team at Jacamo with Freddie.
The winners of the competition for £100 in TopCashback credit, chosen at random, are Daniela James, Alex Smith, Kristine Lindenava, Louise Wong and Stella Noble – congratulations! We’ll be in contact soon!
Jacamo champions self-confidence and inclusivity for all men, regardless of shape, size, or story. Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff has been Jacamo’s brand ambassador for six years and his clothing range, Flintoff by Jacamo, continues to provide men with stylish, convenient and affordable fashion.
With ten year’s expertise, menswear retailer Jacamo has more than 500,000 customers and is part of the Manchester based N Brown Group plc. Clothing is available in sizes from small to 5XL.
Hey Freddie, are the clothes you model designed by yourself or a fashion designer? They look lovely either way!
It’s a collaboration. I meet with the designers at Jacamo a couple of times each season and so am involved in all stages. We work hard to combine fashion with functionality – it’s important to me that I would wear every piece in the collection.
What general style is your clothing?
I’d say quite casual but stylish. I definitely care more about how I look than I used to. I make sure I have options that I will feel good in for all occasions, from chilling at home and going to the gym to a meal out or a business meeting.
Do you wear the clothes from Jacamo?
Yes – I’ve got a wardrobe full! The three-piece suits are great. I wear them all the time.
From the latest collection my favourite piece is the zip up track top. It’s something I’d wear to the gym and then stick back on with a pair of jeans and get on with the rest of the day.
You are starring in Fat Friends stage play. Would you like to do more acting in the future? What would you most like to star in?
I’ve done a couple of bits of acting now. If the right roles come up I’d definitely consider doing more. James Bond!
If you had to be a type of bread, what would it be?
Being northern, it has to be a barm cake!
Does a Lancashire lad enjoy a cup of Yorkshire tea?
I’m more of a black coffee or green tea drinker but if I had a proper tea it would be a Yorkshire!
What has been your favourite moment in your Career?
My first game for Lancashire. I was only nine. I still have the hat.
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
Personally, having children - because you just want the best for them. Professionally, I’d probably say the Fat Friends musical I’m doing later this year as it’s so different to anything I’ve done before.
What advice would you give to young players who want to follow in you footsteps?
Just enjoy playing and have no fear of failure. Don’t over analyse your last game but instead work on being better in your next.
For years I thought Freddie and Andrew were brothers. I felt pretty stupid when I found out you were, in fact, just the one Flintoff. How stupid do you think I actually am?
On a scale of 1 – 10? 9.5!
Why do you support Prostate Cancer UK?
Prostate Cancer UK is Jacamo’s charity partner. As well as raising funds, we’re raising crucial awareness of a disease which affects 1 in 8 men in the UK.
Prostate Cancer is much more prevalent to blokes my age so it’s important that we make as many men as possible aware of the risk of this disease and encourage them to take responsibility for their health by getting checked out.
So far this year we have raised more than £36,000 for the charity which I’m delighted about.
You can donate to Prostate Cancer UK or find out more about the charity by clicking here.
