Travel for less

If you are dreaming of soaking up the sun on a beach somewhere, this could be the perfect time to book a holiday.

However, with flights, accommodation, travel insurance, airport parking and more to consider, the cost of your dream trip could soon mount up.

We’re here to offer you a few tips and tricks to help you cut the cost of your trip this year.

Never forget cashback

It may seem an obvious one, but don’t forget to earn cashback on all your travel purchases. It’s not just the big things like flights and hotels that you can earn cashback on, you can also earn it on your airport transfers, travel insurance and day trips.

Be flexible

If possible, give yourself the best chance to capture any of the cheap flights when the prices fluctuate by searching for a couple of days, or even weeks, either side of your preferred departure date.

However, you should be prepared for the fact limited availability may mean you won’t find exactly what you are looking for.

Pre-book

From day trips to airport parking, you’re bound to get the best deals if you pre-book. If you need to park at the airport then make sure you book in advance, you can save up to 30% by doing so.

Make sure you pre-book any day trips, by pre-booking online, you’ll usually receive a discount, plus many attractions give you an option to skip the line when pre-booking.

Package deal or hotel + flight?

Package deals are convenient with only a single booking needed and when it comes to holidays in well-known resorts, a package deal is usually good value for money.

But it’s always worth checking the price of accommodation and travel separately, especially if you’re going to an unusual location or taking a city break.

Whether you are booking flights, accommodation or holiday packages, we have some superb cashback deals which will save you money.

Book late

When we say book late we mean no more than 8-10 weeks before departure, this is when the best deals appear.

It’s simple really, this is when hotels and airlines want to fill the flights and hotels. The later you leave it, the further the prices drop, this does mean that you have to be super flexible on dates.

Travel card or cash?

Travel credit cards can be a more viable option than your usual credit card, and many providers will offer introductory deals. Many travel cards offer a competitive exchange rate, while you will also be able to cancel it if it gets stolen.

Taking foreign currency means you will be carrying what you have budgeted for, which could prevent you from buying things you don’t need, while loading cash onto a prepaid travel card could also help with overspending.

Get your holiday finances in order and put a little extra in your pocket with these cashback offers.

Alicar4 June 2019, 14:47 Matt, the retailer was Crystal Travel. I got the flights at the cheapest price, they were never that low again anywhere and I searched every day. They only appear on Skyscanner and Booking Buddy so the cashback is minimal. Nearest were Travelup but only £7+ Cashback. I did book hotels with Expedia and ich and trips with Viator and received good cashback from all of them.
Flights etc can be tricky as they only gurantee that price at that specific moment, prices are always changing and so it won't matter if you go through or just search again direct on the retailer it's likely the price will change.

This won't be down to clicking through us but the demand at the time of purchase, what deals are about, how many people have added those deals to their baskets etc.

Best wishes,
Matt
skietna31 May 2019, 19:25 I took some advice a while ago about a pre paid travel card and have never looked back it is such a good idea. I took advantage of a really good deal from the post office through this site - certainly paid off in the long run
Alicar29 May 2019, 12:21 Don't forget cashback isn't always the cheapest. I booked flights last year as the retailers here were too expensive even with the cashback.
It shouldn't be and if you notice this please reach out to the team.

Remember with holiday's particularly prices change by the minute and sometimes second and so it's not always possible to get the exact same price when you search again.

Best wishes,
Matt
