There are four tiers — Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond — each offering a range of club benefits. You will earn points whenever you fly in eligible fare classes with Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon or any of their oneworld airline partners. Cathay Pacific airlines was founded by American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H de Kantzow in 1946.

Based initially in Shanghai, the duo eventually moved to Hong Kong and established the airline. The company began to operate Hong Kong flights to Manilla, Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai, and the airline expanded rapidly. In 1948, one of Hong Kong's leading trading companies, Butterfield & Swire — known today as Swire Group — bought a 45% share in the business.

Under the leadership of John Kidston Swire, Butterfield & Swire took over responsibility for the management of the airline. Between 1962 and 1967, Cathay Pacific grew at an average rate of 20% per year, while they also launched international services to Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya in Japan. By the end of 1979, they had applied for traffic rights to start flying to London and expanded services to Europe and North America.

The 1980s saw them expand their international network further, while by the mid-1990s, they had assembled a fleet of aircraft which was among the youngest in the world. The new millennium saw them strengthen Hong Kong's links to other global hubs through multiple daily services to London, New York, Los Angeles and Sydney, while 2003 saw them resume passenger services to Beijing.

In 2006, they celebrated their 60th anniversary by being named Airline of the Year in the Air Transport World magazine awards, while they have won many an airline award since. The same year saw Dragonair brought into the Cathay Pacific Group, and this now operates more than 150 aircraft to some 130 destinations across the globe.
