Suzy Lamplugh Trust

Suzy Lamplugh Trust was set up in 1986 after Suzy Lamplugh, a 25 year old estate agent, disappeared after she went to meet an unknown client. So far her body has not been found and she has been presumed murdered and legally declared dead. Her parents, Paul and the late Diana Lamplugh, believed that Suzy, like most people at that time and even now was simply unaware of the possible dangers that individuals can face in society. Paul and Diana founded the Suzy Lamplugh Trust to highlight the risks people face and to offer advice, action and support to minimise those risks. Suzy Lamplugh Trust are a national personal safety charity who campaign, educate, and support people to help reduce the risk of violence and aggression for everyone in the UK.

Switchboard

Switchboard provides a one-stop listening service for LGBT+ people on the phone, by email and through Instant Messaging. Founded on March 4th 1974 Switchboard’s information and support helpline operated for five hours every evening in a small room above a bookshop near Kings Cross Station. Because of almost immediate, rapidly increasing demand, it soon became a 24-hour service. We have provided support and information to millions of people since our phone started ringing in 1974. Throughout our history, we have been at the forefront of supporting our communities in facing the issues of the day.
