The Cotton Traders brand was established in 1987 by former England rugby union internationals Fran Cotton and Steve Smith, who initially ran it from a trading estate in Sale, Greater Manchester.

The two had actually first met when they played rugby for Loughborough P.E. College and they went on to play together for the Barbarians, the British Lions and England, winning the Grand Slam in 1980. A year later, the two joined Butka Sportswear and Cotton Traders came into existence in 1987.

One of the most significant moments in the company's history came in 1991, when Cotton and Smith secured a licensing agreement with the Rugby Football Union to produce quality replica England rugby tops. Wales entered the deal in 1992 and South Africa in 1994, while the following year saw Nelson Mandela attend the Rugby World Cup in South Africa wearing a Cotton Traders rugby shirt.

Cotton Traders obtained financial investment from Next in 1997 and their first retail store opened a year later, with 100 more following. Cotton Traders UK standard delivery will see your order arrive within three working days, while you can also choose their next day service for delivery Monday-Saturday. To take advantage of this option, you will need to order by 5pm Monday-Friday or 2pm on Sunday, while it is not available in some remote areas.

Order by the same times and you can choose a date to suit you with nominated day delivery, while to have your order delivered on a Sunday, you will have to place it by 2pm on Saturday. As an alternative to home delivery, you can order online and have it sent to a Cotton Traders store.

This is free for orders over £35. Your order can also be collected from a MyHermes ParcelShop. You will be able to track your parcel by clicking on the tracking number in your order confirmation email or by logging in to your account and going to your order history.
