There’s a brand-new McDonald’s peel-to-play competition launching for UK fry lovers this week and we’re here to tell you how you can take part and win some incredible prizes.

The Surprize Fries competition starts on Wednesday, 29th May and will run until Tuesday, 2nd July. That means you’ll have a whopping five weeks to have a go at winning.

What is McDonald’s Surprize Fries?

Surprize Fries is a prize giveaway game that rewards McDonald’s customers when they buy a medium or large portion of french fries.

It was launched in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, but it’s a brand-new promotion for UK customers.

There are millions of prizes to be won, including limited-edition merch, menu items like Big Macs and apple pies, and even cash rewards.

When and where does the competition run?

What better way to say goodbye to a drizzly bank holiday weekend than with an all-new competition from the UK’s most beloved fast food chain?

The Surprize Fries game begins on Wednesday, 29th May and ends on Tuesday, 2nd July 2024.

You’ll have until Tuesday, 9th July 2024 to claim any prizes you’ve won. This promotion is open to UK residents only.

Which items can I get game pieces on?

You can get peel-off game pieces on a portion of medium or large fries. At the time of writing, a medium packet of fries costs £1.69, while a large portion will cost you £2.19.

What prizes can I win?

Peel your Surprize Fries sticker from your fries carton to find out if you’re one of the lucky ones who’ve won a prize.

Your sticker might show an instant win prize or an app win code, which you’ll need to enter in your MyMcDonald’s app (you can download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play Store).

Instant win game pieces

Your instant win game piece could feature food freebies or a cash prize. Instant win stickers could get you any of the following prizes:

Food prizes can be instantly claimed at your local McDonald’s or via the app. To claim it in-store, take your prize sticker to the payment kiosk, service counter or drive-thru.

To redeem via the MyMcDonald’s app, scan the piece’s barcode or manually enter the code, and your prizes will be added to your offers section. For cash prizes, follow the instructions on your game piece or check the McDonald’s website.

App game pieces

Don’t worry if you didn’t get an instant win prize on your fries, as you might still be in with the chance of winning an app prize.

Open up the MyMcDonald’s mobile app and scan your game piece, or you can manually enter the code printed on your game piece.

You’ll know immediately if you’ve won a prize, which could be any of the following:

 £200 cash

 McDonald’s Fries bucket hat

 McDonald’s Fries carton holder

 McDonald’s Fries pool float

3,000 MyMcDonald’s Rewards Points on your next visit

If you win an in-app food or drink prize, this will be automatically added to your offers in your app.

You can then redeem these prizes at a McDonald’s kiosk, service counter or drive-thru, or through the McDonald’s app if you’re ordering directly from there.

If you win a cash or merch prize, you’ll need to follow the instructions given on the app to redeem your prize.

Unlock a Bonus Fry

If you’re a truly dedicated fry eater, you can get rewarded for your loyalty this year.

Enter 10 app codes during the Surprize Fries competition and you’ll earn a Bonus Fry. This means you’ll get 2,500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards Points added to your account, which you can redeem on food and drink at McDonald’s.

• You must be a UK resident
• You’re limited to eight entries per app account per day (24 hours)
• All game pieces and prizes are subject to availability
• All prizes must be claimed by Tuesday, 9th July 2024
• You can’t enter if you’re an employee of McDonald’s or an immediate family member of a McDonald’s employee

 Earn MyMcDonald’s Rewards

McDonald’s are making their delicious food even more rewarding with MyMcDonald’s Rewards, giving you the chance to earn points on every order.

Download the McDonald’s app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then sign up for your account or log in if you’ve already got one. You can then order straight from your mobile, or collect points for in-restaurant purchases by scanning your unique QR code.

You’ll get one point per penny you spend and you’ll start unlocking rewards once you reach 1,500 points. There are sometimes bonus campaigns where you can earn bonus points on selected menu items.

Earn 2,500 points and that’s enough for a medium fries… so if you claim your prize during the Surprize Fries competition, you could earn yourself a free competition entry.

 Get an NHS discount

NHS staff can treat themselves to 20% off main menu items when they order via the MyMcDonald’s app. Just link up your NHS email address to your MyMcDonald’s account to access your exclusive discount.

You can use your 20% off discount once a week, but it can’t be used alongside any other promotions or offers.

 Food for Thoughts survey

Keep hold of your McDonald’s receipt if you want to save on your next order.

Your voucher could get you a Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish or Vegetable Deluxe with medium fries or a side salad for £1.99. You’ll need to fill out your survey within 60 days of the date of your visit to qualify.
