Aldi: from £5.97 for two (2025)
While there aren't any entirely set Aldi Valentine’s meal deals, they do have a range of delicious food and drink items to be enjoyed on the day of love.

Why bother with a Valentine’s dine-in deal?
Valentine’s Day is all about showing your partner how much you love them. It’s not necessarily about who can spend the most money on the flashiest gifts or fine dining experiences.
Cooking your loved one a special dinner at home will not only save you money, but it’s a meaningful and heartfelt gesture they’re bound to appreciate (as long as you don’t burn anything!).
Supermarket dine-in meal deals make Valentine’s cooking easier and more convenient than ever. You can forget about driving to an over-priced restaurant, with many of these deals including a starter, main, side, dessert and drink, all for a more affordable price.
You don’t have to be a confident cook either, as these meal deals contain everything you need for a delicious, romantic meal without any actual food prep.

How do supermarket meals compare with restaurant dining?
We’ve checked out a few popular restaurant chains to see how their Valentine’s Day menus compare to the supermarket dine-in offers we’ve seen this year.
Not only are the supermarket deals cheaper, but some have a wider range of menu options to choose from.
Miller and Carter:
This year's Valentine’s set menu at Miller and Carter includes three courses but no drinks. Prices start from £38.50 each and the menu is available all day every day between February 8th and February 15th, 2025.
There are five starters, 11 mains (with seven of these being steaks), and four desserts to choose from. Some of the steak dishes come with a supplement of up to £14 per person, or you could upgrade to their Valentine’s Sharing Steak and Champagne Experience, which costs £135 for two.
Ask Italian:
At Ask Italian this Valentine’s Day, you and your special someone can enjoy three courses for £28.95 per person. Again, this set menu doesn’t include any drinks.
There was quite a range of choices though, with 10 starters, 13 mains and six desserts to choose from. This deal is running from the 12th to the 19th of February 2025.
How much you’ll pay for a Valentine’s set menu will of course depend on the restaurant and its location.
We were surprised to find that many of the set menus available at restaurants this year were actually cheaper than choosing an equivalent starter, main and dessert from their usual menus.
This suggests that Valentine’s menus do offer decent value for money when compared to standard menus at many chains. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that many of the deals above didn’t include drinks, so you would most likely end up spending more.
Both supermarket meal deals and traditional restaurant dining on February 14th have their upsides:
Supermarket dine-in
Restaurant dining
Generally far cheaper than most Valentine’s restaurant meals
Offers a more thoughtful and meaningful gesture
You can stay in the comfort of your own home (even in your PJs)
You don’t have to worry about travel or avoiding alcohol if you’re driving
Can offer a nicer, more luxurious experience overall
You can get dressed up for a romantic date night to remember
There’s no need to argue over who does the washing up
You don’t have to cook any of the food or serve any of the drinks yourself

Still prefer a restaurant? Save money on your romantic meal
If you’re leaning towards restaurant dining, this still doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune. Here are some quick tips for saving money on your trip to a restaurant this Valentine’s Day.
Book for a different day
While some of the restaurant Valentine’s menus we checked did offer good value for money, that’s not to say every single restaurant will be cheaper on February 14th. In fact, our instinct says quite the opposite. Many restaurants inflate their prices for Valentine’s Day as they know they’ll get booked up.
With that in mind, one way to save money if you do fancy dining out would be to celebrate Valentine’s Day on a day other than February 14th or avoid that week entirely if you can. As Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, the weekend of the 14th-16th is likely to be busy (and expensive).
With that in mind, why not delay your romantic celebrations for a couple of weeks and book a table for a Friday or Saturday during late February or March?

Pick a restaurant with a loyalty scheme
If you’ve already signed up for any restaurant loyalty schemes, you may have credit or personalised offers available to use. If you haven’t, take a look at your chosen restaurant’s website and see if they have any offers for new members.
At the very least, you might be able to earn yourself some rewards for a future visit. We particularly like Gusto’s Gold Rewards scheme, where you can earn cash to spend on your next meal.
Take advantage of Reward Wallet

Valentines is one of the only times of year we treat ourselves to M&S, and we always choose the nicest steaks we can find.
This year we're going for the bao buns, sirloin steaks, triple-cooked chips, chocolate puddings, and their pinot grigio!
It's a tradition with me and my husband that we have spaghetti bolognese on valentines day because it was the first meal I ever cooked for him when we first started dating over 30 years ago.
A box of chocolates! Yum!
Definitely Chinese meal at home watching a movie.
