So, how does the maths add up? If you’re buying six bottles of wine and getting a 25% discount, that’s equivalent to getting 1.5 bottles for absolutely nothing.

For example, if each bottle costs £7, the total price for six would be £42, but after the 25% discount, you’d only pay £31.50. This is equivalent to 4.5 bottles of wine costing £7 each, meaning the remaining 1.5 bottles won’t cost you anything.

Is this deal available online?

M&S wine deals are only available in store, unless you're buying gifts like those mentioned above. They offer free in-store collection and free delivery when you spend over £60. Delivery costs £3.99 for orders under £60.

Aldi wine deals

Aldi sometimes offer 25% off selected wines. They also have a Wine of the Week deal where they discount a single bottle of either red, white, rosé or sparkling wine, rather than run a more general percentage-off promotion.

When we last checked, we found a bottle of La Bouteille Divine Pinot Noir reduced from £7.99 to £4.99 and a Specially Selected Estevez Chardonnay and for £4.99, down from £6.49.

Is this deal available online?

No, you can only take advantage of Aldi deals on wine and spirits when you shop in store. This is because Aldi no longer offer home delivery on alcohol or Specialbuys.

The Co-op tends to offer discounts on a range of different individual wines at any one time. Some of these discounts are available to everyone and others are exclusive to Co-op members.

When we last checked the Co-op website, reduced wines included a bottle of Shore Drift Sauvignon Blanc, which was down from £9 to £7.20, and a bottle of El Esteco Malbec FairTrade, which was reduced from £13.50 to £11.50.

Another past offer we've seen was a £5 discount on a purchase of three bottles of wine in store, which was exclusively for Co-op Members.

Is this deal available online?

Co-op wine deals are available in store and sometimes online too. They offer free delivery on all online orders over £25, with a £3 charge for orders under that amount.

Why bother with the 25% off six bottles of wine deal?

These supermarket wine offers provide any wine lover with a great opportunity to stock up their cupboards. If you’re already planning to buy a few bottles, you could be missing a trick if you don’t take advantage of these deals.
