It is kinda strange that Top Cash Back is still advertising for Halifax if they receive no money... They MUST have received some money from Halifax but not willing to share with us as promised!

Halifax have refused the cashback and have provided no reason why. Stay well clear of them. They can't be trusted.

My husband and I both opened new halifax reward accounts, have waited forever to see some cashback register, nothing, after chasing it up a few times we have finally both been told that our cashback has been declined. There does not seem to be any reason for this except they are an untrustworthy company.

Well, another disatisfied customer. Opened this account in September and the cashback declined in April. this is a joke! If you want the cashback, avoid this scam. I cannot see it paying out to anyone, it is a disgrace and tcb should take action or they will lose their reputation.

Cashback rejected after 6 months!! That is disgraceful! That is a spam to trick people opening an account!! Rubbish bank services as well, stuffs are not helpful with my bank account queries... (Although I have to say Santander is a lot worse)

Cashback finally declined after 6 months or so, April 1st...hmmm, maybe a connection?! The bank account is OK, the customer service acceptable by and large, the cashback was obviously just a con to get you to switch. I appreciate that TCB always say it's never guaranteed that you will get the cashback, but with such a high amount of offered cashback and seemingly a number of non-payments it is evident Halifax shouldn't be on the site! I think we should all write direct to them!

BEWARE.
The odds are you will not get your cashback.
1st April 2011 : rejected after transferring to Halifax Reward Account 5 months ago.
I am just one of a long line of many.
This is not a building society to do business with.

Another rejected claim to add to all the rest on here. Complete con, no intention of ever paying by the look of all the other disgruntled customers.

I would offer 0 rating if possible as one of the worst merchants on the TCB board! cashback declined with no reason and customer service was so appalling! This was one of the banks which had to be rescued by my tax only adds to the insult!

Agree with the vast mojority of people here. Have just heard that my transaction from October has been declined with no reason given at the moment. Never had anything declined before so can only assume Halifax used this offer to get new customers.

Opened a reward current account, Halifax refused to pay topcashback apparently, no cashback received. Very disappointed. Don't bother with this cashback, it doesn't work.

Still have not got the cash back from Halifax after 5 months! I had all my bank accounts setup and I don't see why I don't get the cashback. Either Halifax being stingy or topcashback not trying (or kept all the money themselves...)

Like so many other comments here, my cash back claim has been outstanding for 5+months. It reflects on Halifax poorly, as well as tcb.
If you’re going to try a current account with Halifax do it directly, and save yourself any disappointment.

Follow up to latest post. Yes, I did all the requirements. It's suspicious to me that it was a requirement for everyone to do a manual claim. That is the problem if you ask me - cookies just don't track. Halifax confirmed all my dds by letter, but the cashback just isn't delivered. Santander, strangley do pay up and as a bank they are less trusted, so I reckon it is Halifax being stingy

Looks like I am in a small but satisfied minority. I received my £50 cash back from tcb and also my £50 from the bank into my account. Switching service went through no problem- despite my mistrust that it wouldn't.
When i did this, tcb had specified that you had to submit a missing cashback claim as a matter of course and then the cashback would not be paid until the new account was all up and running with all D/D transfers done etc. I wonder if those having problems did all this?

UPDATE - Still no joy with either Halifax or TCB on this one for my £50 cashback from September 2010. I did ask TCB for a update on my claim & the reply was that they are still pursuing it with the Halifax & I will hopefully hear something soon but that was 2 weeks ago. I did telephone Halifax yesterday but they were no help really & said that I must pursue it with TCB.

I am another unhappy Halifax client. Like the rest I did everything required, account opened in September. Manual claim made October 7 2010, then ...nothing. Lots of nudges...nothing.
This offer is still going (for £35) now. How crazy when no-one has admiytted getting the TCB cashback.
I think the offer is very bad PR for TCB, lots of unhappy people who won't trust TCB in future.
Management at TCB should gather all the claims go to Halifax and get it sorted....unless actually Halifax has paid TCB and the money is being held or used.
Maybe we should write to Halifax and ask them directly if TCB has been paid their fee for finding us new customers and did it include the £50 inducement.

After reading Romans comments I thought I'd ring up Halifax and ask about their promised £50. A very helpful person told me that I should have the money within 5 days! Funny how they can always find these things out when you ask. If any of you signed up for a separate £50 offer direct from Halifax then get in touch with them. Lets see if the TCB offer comes to light too.

Another dissatisfied customer. How come this offer is stll being shown? I opened account in September. Had to chase Halifax for the £50 but at least they credited me. Nothing from TCB and no response to nudges. No positive feedback shown on here, so is this a real offer or not?

It seems like I am the only one who've got at least something positive about Halifax cashback offer! :)
The transaction still hasn't tracked through after submitting suggested by Topcashback manual claim. Although, re: simonsimon, I have got promised on Halifax bank website 50 GBP cashback directly from the bank, though I had to go to my local branch and ask them, how about my cashback offer? 3 days later 50 pounds were on my bank account. So it is worth asking in local branch about the cashback if you got the offer when applied on Halifax website. And another positive thing - 5 pounds monthly just for having account and paying in 1000 is nice! Hopefully 50 GBP from Topcashback will get paid eventually! :)
