Had home Buildings Insurance with HSBC for many years, but never needed to claim until water damage to our downstairs floors became apparent. Rang to see if we were covered and couldn't believe response - it seemed I was connected to the "Claims Denial Dept" - they instantly gave a reason why it was not covered & when I pointed out the flaw in their response, instantly gave another reason for refusing which I again pointed out was wrong. This continued to a total of four different reasons, at which point I'd had enough and gave notice not to renew. Left with a lasting disgust for this company and the £1000s I wasted with them over the years!
