The history of Jet2 can be traced back more than 30 years, with their roots lying in the commercial aircraft company Channel Express (Air Services). They changed their name to Jet2.com before their first leisure flight, from Leeds Bradford Airport to Amsterdam in 2003.

Jet2.com fly from the UK to 18 countries - 17 in Europe as well as the USA. You can view destinations on a map or an A-Z list, as well as search for destinations by country. Browse city destinations and routes, while you can also select your preferred departure airport and discover where you can fly to from there.

You can take one piece of unchecked cabin baggage free of charge which must weigh no more than 10kg and be no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm - including wheels and handles. You may also be permitted to take an additional, small item, such as a handbag, laptop bag or airport purchase, on board as long as it can be reasonably stored in the overhead lockers or under the seat in front of you.

Jet2.com do not permit the use of electronic cigarettes on board any of their flights. However, you will be able to take an e-cigarette or vapouriser on board. As they contain lithium batteries, they must be carried in the cabin and not in your suitcase, but you will not be able to recharge them during your flight.

The Jet2.com fleet consists of more than 70 aircraft. The vast majority of the fleet is made up of Boeing 737-800 and 737-300 aircraft, while they also operate 11 Boeing 757-200 planes.

Jet.com do not offer Wi-Fi on their planes. Once the aircraft has reached cruising altitude and the captain has turned off the ‘Fasten Seatbelt Sign’, you can use laptops and other electrical items. Mobile phones, however, cannot be used for Internet access, text messaging or voice calls. Any device with wireless communication must be switched to flight mode before take off. If it does not have flight mode, you cannot use it.

If you choose to check in online, you can do this from 28 days before up until five hours ahead of your departure. You can do this via the website or mobile app, though you will need to remember to print your boarding passes or download mobile boarding passes. Alternatively, you can get your mobile boarding passes in the app on your smartphone before you travel.
