Molton Brown Features

Molton Brown was established in 1973 when they began blending hair care products by hand above a salon in London's Mayfair.

Their first body products were launched six years later - and made it to the shelves of Harrods - while 1984 saw their now iconic Orange & Bergamot range established with one of the first luxurious hand washes available on the market.

Within 12 months they had introduced MB Men, a men's grooming range which featured a line-up of skincare, hair care, fragrance and shaving products, while 1989 saw them break into the hotel market when a manager visited their London store and fell in love with their products. Today, they stock hotels and cruise ships in more than 65 countries.

Their launch of Ylang-Ylang body wash in 1996 saw Molton Brown use plant extracts from the Madagascan rainforest, while they made buying their products easier two years later when they launched their first website (they now have dedicated sites for Europe, Australia and America).

Their Gingerlily collection hit the shelves in 2001, featuring a blend of Tahitian tamanu oil, ginger and sandalwood, while their Black Peppercorn body wash arrived a year later and became an instant bestseller. The Molton Brown New York store opened in 2004, while recent years have seen the introduction of a unisex fragrance collection, home fragrance items and a skincare and anti-ageing body care range.
