Switching energy to SSE is easy. All you need to do is get a personalised quote, choose your tariff and sign up online today. Additionally, you can discover ways to save time, energy and money by opting for smart meter installation. SSE Energy Services — their GB domestic retail business — became part of the OVO family in 2020.
The family includes energy suppliers Boost, Spark Energy and flagship brand OVO Energy, as well as home services brand CORGI HomePlan. OVO Energy is the UK’s leading independent energy supplier, whose aim is to offer clean and affordable energy to all.
They supply almost five million households across the UK, as well as offer other home services, such as heating and boiler cover. They also offer broadband deals. There are many great reasons to choose SSE for your gas and electricity.
You can spread the cost of your annual energy and save money when you pay by Direct Debit, plus get presale tickets, access to big events and other SSE rewards. Whether you're with British Gas, npower or any other supplier, it's easy to switch to SSE. You can get a great SSE deal with us too and keep warm for less by taking advantage of our cashback offers.

If you're thinking of switching energy suppliers, you can enter your postcode to get a quote for electricity and gas, then view the SSE tariffs available to you. You’ll find it easy to compare gas and electricity tariffs available on the SSE UK website.
SSE Fix and Control v2 gives customers fixed price energy for two years, plus a Google Nest Thermostat E and Google Nest Hub. As well as no guaranteed price rises on your bills for 24 months and the smart home package, you’ll also benefit from 100% renewable electricity, which will see them match your usage with hydro and wind power.
A smart meter is also included and they’ll contact you to arrange an installation at no extra cost. There is a £75 per fuel early exit fee with this plan. If you want to avoid an early exit fee, you can choose either the SSE 1 Year Fix v2 tariff or the SSE 2 Year Fix v4 tariff, which will allow you to fix your energy prices for one or two years respectively. Finally, there’s the Standard Tariff — a simple energy plan with no ties.
The fact it offers flexible energy means energy prices may go up and down, but there’s no early exit fee. Unlike the other gas and electricity tariffs, the Standard Tariff is available to pay as you go customers. You can also benefit from great discounts with one of their great value bundles. These will allow you to make great savings compared to buying their equivalent standalone products.
The SSE Fix and Protect v2 bundle includes heating and breakdown cover for an extra £9.50 per month, while the SSE Fix and Fibre v2 bundle includes energy plus £23 Unlimited Fibre broadband, or you can upgrade to Fibre Plus at no extra cost. These bundles are only available when you pay by Direct Debit.
