Cashback confirmed, but later declined after several months had passed.
Used trainline on 2 occasions to purchase an annual railcard. First cashback proceeded to payable as expected. Second cashback didn't initially track but Trainline later confirmed cashback was owed. After several months in 'confirmed' status however, rather than paying the owed cashback they changed the status to 'declined'.

Typical for a train - you wait ages and then it's cancelled.
I've been using topcashback for years but this is the first time it's gone completely wrong. From memory I think I had to put in a claim because it didn't track but that was nearly a year ago. Now nearly a year later it has been declined. Not going to persue the matter and will not use again for a measly 1%.

Don’t use - no cash back on 6 transactions
It’s 2025 , cash back from 2019 showed as still pending for it to be refused for 6 separate transactions. TCB should not allow a company to do this . Receipts available

Can't handle multiple purchases
I often use Trainline to book tickets for several people. Even though I click through from TCB each time, it only ever registers one of the transactions (usually the cheapest!) and ignores the others. I have to then raise a ticket, which takes 6 months to resolve. Often, this takes so long that I've forgotten all about it, so lose out. I don't know if this is a TCB issue or a Trainline issue.

Despite numerous purchases through TCB, confirmed clicks, nothing ever tracks. TCB CS "do their best" but always the same response.

Extremely Disappointed with TopCashback and Trainline.
I have been a loyal TopCashback user, but my recent experience has been incredibly frustrating. I made two purchases—a railcard and a ticket—through Trainline, motivated by the cashback offers on TopCashback. However, after waiting four months, both my cashback claims have been declined.
The reason provided is that Trainline couldn't trace my transactions, despite the fact that 6 clicks were successfully tracked and I provided the correct transaction details and purchase date. This response feels inadequate and unfair.
To make matters worse, TopCashback suggests providing "alternative order references" when I’ve already shared the necessary details. Why should customers bear the burden of proving what should be tracked automatically?
I feel misled and let down by both TopCashback and Trainline. If cashback offers are promoted but not honored, it raises serious concerns about the integrity of these deals. I urge others to be cautious and hope TopCashback and Trainline review their processes to prevent such issues in the future.

Don't waste your time
I've bought numerous tickets with Trainline and continue to do so. However, buying them through Topcashback always ends with the same result: "They can't find my booking details," and I never receive a small percentage for each transaction. Now, I don't bother trying and it saves me from the rigamarole of the missing cashback system.

Never Payout!!!!!
I have been purchasing rail tickets through trainline for over 1 year now. Not once have I ever been paid any cashback by them. I just get the usual spiel it has not tracked etc.

Worked with a follow up
As it seems to be a trend, they initially rejected my claims. But I responded to the rejection stating that I'd be happy to provide the email with proof of purchase and they accepted the cashback. Not a great experience compared to other companies, but it did work.

Do not bother with Trainline
Just clickbaiting customers with offer of good cashback. They never register nor give any cashback, even though you have a proof and register buying. There are other providers with same tickets that everyone should use as Trainline is complete waste of time.

Turned down...again
Recent trend with Trainline (and other companies) is a flat turn-down and claiming they can't trace the transaction despite valid order numbers being given. TCB need to start looking into merchants who are consistently getting one star reviews but they just take the merchants' word for it and close down the claim.

They never pay the cashback
I have used this website 7 times this year and only 1 time did they pay the cash back, always stated transaction cannot be traced.
Yet I can proof payment and ID reference on each transaction.
One very dissatisfied customer.

Poor service
I don't usually use trains but the one time I did it got delayed over 1 hour and had to switch trains in between unexpectedly. On top of all this they declined my TCB. #shambles

excellent service
very simple just use top cashback, go to your retailer that deals with top cashback purchase what you require and the rest is simple just, wait for the cash back into your account. You may have to wait a period of time but it is worth the wait .
