Even with the cash back, it was cheaper to just buy the ticket from my local station. £3.50 for using AmEx and £1 booking fee

Not the highest rate of cashback but still nice to get free money for something you've gotta purchase anyway!
Easy to use website for purchasing train tickets.

Always found this site very good for journey planning and ticket purchase. Shows all details and if booking in advance great price tickets. Straightforward site to use and they did pay the cashback.

Booked the tickets for a journey to Portsmouth at 2.30pm and received them the next morning. The cashback tracked very quickly. A larger amount of cashback would be better though.

When you see this company in the list it says 3% (ish) but then when you click on it, this is only for hotels etc and not for train tickets... where you only get 1.51% cashback, which isn't particularly fair I don't think when it is a train ticket website!

Came quickly, was tracked quickly, became confirmed and then became payable with surprising speed, definitely will use this again, but will look around at other merchants, you need to get the best deal.

The trainline was a great place to order my train tickets, the cashback is still pending apparently but they have given me an estimated payable date.
Generally, you are waiting a good few weeks before payments change status. However, the transaction tracked around noon the next working day.

The website is quite easy to navigate, and cashback tracked quickly, but only a few pence and to be honest I think there are better deals on tickets available elsewhere.

Although cashback is only a few pounds even of a relatively expensive ticket it is still good value approx £2.50 for £150 tickets.

Either use a debit card (as Trainline charges an outrageous £3.50 for credit card transactions) or buy directly from the train company if possible as they don't usually charge a credit card fee and are nearly all "powered" by Trainline anyway so the prices are the same.
Also, be very wary of taking the discount offer by hitting the Continue button on the final booking page. This will attempt to sign you up to a worthless subscription discount shopping site that will take money from your card by continous authority every month. This shady practice has become notorious since it was "pioneered" by Vistaprint. Presumably Trainline gets a rake-off from the fees taken from you for the worthless subscription.
