After completing lengthy application, "Buy now" bitton did not connect. Called help line where strongly accented agent laboriously went through whole application before trying to add unwanted items such as breakdown and legal aid cover. Would have added almost £100 to cost before the "But Now" button misteriously became live. Sales cam?

Aviva car insurance website - has anyone managed to purchase a car insurance policy recently!. I've been trying to do just that for the last eight days - it will generate a quote and go through the motions of payment details and after clicking on buy now - it generate a "could not connect to the secure web server www.ukdi.qs.aviva.co.uk page. The site generate a email of your quote confirmation saved which I'm assuming you can log on and purchase. The problem with this is the merchant clearly states that cashback is only payable on a quote generated and purchase solely online in one transation and not on a saved quote.

Got cashback from Aviva last year, which was great. However their customer service is awful. Indian call centres, long delays, difficult to be understood. Some things are worth paying a little more for, or getting a little less cashback. I've since changed to Admiral who have been fantastic.

I bought car insurance today at 9am a quote of £515 and my best quote so far had been £670 with LV, and just checked my cashback at 11.45am and the cashback had tracked at £72.10 as I have a 3% top-up. Just keeping my fingers crossed that it stays at that amount (unlike some reviews on here which track high and then go to zero) and that it gets paid quicker than the average of about 12 months which again seems to be the norm on the reviews. So far so good........I'm keeping everything crossed and I'll let you know when there is an update on it.

I cannot comment on cashback yet as I have only just made the purchase. If I do get £70.70 cashback I will be more than satisfied. I will then have saved a total of £190 for switching to Aviva with exactly the same car & requirements as with another insurer last year.

Didn't track, but a manual request was made and the guys at TCB were very happy to help and very quick in resolving the cashback (£30) which made this the cheapest insurance deal by a substantial amount. Payable relatively quickly after the manual claim, very happy overall.

What can I say, been with Norwich union for years on and off, got car insurance last year with aviva (new owners), not the cheapest (well it was with the cashback), and heres the rub, I sold my car, when their renewal came through, chucked it in the bin as no car to insure, what happens 6 weeks later get a letter from collections, then get a call from collections as someone who has never missed a payment it was pretty sickening, and to add insult to injury the mumbi muppet on the other end kept insisting I was in debt to them and it would cost £46 to cancel the policy I never authorised in the first place. Will never deal with aviva ever again.
