Reneging on an offer is just not on. What a way to sour a brand experience.
Sure, you saved £25 on not paying me out, but the discounted value of the future cashflow from me is probably going to be more; I doubt I'll buy the Times again, and there are plenty of other papers to choose from.

Not impressed with TCB's dealing with this. They changed the T&C's 2 days after I had purchased to say that cashback not applicable for the £1 trial. No mention of this in the first place. As for the Times online subscription. it didn't appeal to me and would not be something I would use or personally pay for. Needed to ring to cancel (not possible via livechat) but customer services on the phone were pleasant.
