20% discount voucher for new customers? Sounds great. Just one tiny caveat - the discount doesn't apply to ALL items they sell (not that this was mentioned anywhere). I was buying a specific make and model of paper shredder and, confusingly, the 20% discount didn't apply (but with a bit of experimentation I found that it did apply with other makes and models of shredders I added to my basket). How can you tell whether the item you're interested in will be eligible for the discount? There doesn't seem to be any indication other than try putting the item in your basket and see if the discount registers... it all seems too arbitrary for my liking. Against my better judgement, I proceeded with the order anyway as I had spent so long on the website choosing what I wanted I couldn't be bothered starting over with another website.
Secondly, delivery. Poor. Very poor indeed. My order should've (according to the delivery schedule on their own website) been delivered today. There is an order tracking function on their website which showed my order hadn't even been dispatched yet, so I emailed to enquire whether it was going to be delivered today. Credit where it's due, a response was emailed within a couple of hours... unfortunately, it was a load of old fluff. Apparently, the reason my order wasn't being delivered today was because it was a bank holiday yesterday (er, no it wasn't, 26th and 27th Dec were bank holidays, but the 28th wasn't and it should've been dispatched on 28th for delivery on 29th), but not to worry, it'll be delivered tomorrow. Not impressed at having someone try to pull the wool over my eyes regarding what is and what is not a bank holiday, I let it go. But, now, having just checked the tracking section for my order again this evening, it's still not been dispatched at 8:25pm. I'll be amazed if it does arrive tomorrow now given that it's apparently not yet left the warehouse this late at night. This is meant to be next business day delivery!?!
