V poor. It didn't track and then I had to lodge a claim. Did this in Oct 2014 and got the money March 2016! Plus only received £15 when I should've got £25. Giving 1 star because I can't give zero!

INEPT! failed to spot when I called them to say I'd drilled through a cable that cable replacement/repair isn't something they cover. Then couldn't find an electrician so got me to do so, before telling me belatedly that I wasn't covered after all. Check carefully what you are signing up to (as with any insurance) and expect problems when you come to claim, in my experience!

Hugely disappointed with Hastings Home Emergency Cover. I drilled through a cable at the weekend (yes, I did check using a cable detector, maybe I’ll do a review of that next…) and it tripped the RCD board. Phoned Hastings and with just a few questions they had agreed to send out an emergency electrician for me. Thumbs up so far. Problem one: they couldn’t find one. They phoned back 45 minutes later to say as much and that I’d basically need to do their job for them and find one myself, and pay them and claim it back. I did this and having established how to get some of the power back on agreed with the electrician that the next morning was ok for a fixative visit. I phoned Hastings back to ask for clearance to get the electrician to fix the problem, being pretty straightforward what had happened and what was needed to mend it (as they emailed, rather than explain when I spoke to them, that I was only approved for an electrician to check what the problem was, 1 hour max, and that any further work would need to be cleared first). I happened to mention that he’d talked me through getting some of the power back and on hearing that they told me that I was no longer covered because their emergency cover is only valid for problems where ALL electricity to the property is out. Also that I wasn’t covered for cable repair. Clearly, both of these could have been established within the first 30 seconds of my first call with them. More to the point, what kind of policy covers only the least likely of electrical emergencies? They must reject 90% of claims because there is still some power in the house. Imagine having no working power sockets in the house but your lights work and being told you’re not covered! Goodness knows what other loopholes and exclusions are hidden in the wording of this cover, or any of their other policies. Obviously the moral of the story is to check the fine print of any policy you sign up to, with Hastings or otherwise. You may well find that you

Cashback tracked immediately, shown as pending for 5 months and declined as due for payable - policy was purchased and paid for in full so no reason this should not be payable...... Looking at the recent reviews maybe Top CashBack should remove Hastings from their website as obviously they will do pretty much anything to avoid paying out!

Took 7 months to decline cash back on the basis I could not prove I had made purchase through TCB. Will not be renewing with them in October as they did not honour £25 cash back!

If I could have selected a minus star believe me I would have!! Received the cashback after many months of harassing both top cashback and hastings to now be allocated with an amount that was far less than stated back in May 2014 - WILL NEVER BE USING THESE COMPANIES AGAIN!!

Cashback tracked and has been declined - i have no idea why as the policy is still running, dont bother if the cashback is the deal clincher as you may not get it. Was a premium rate 0844 number to ring them, now changed to 0800 so make sure you use the right one if you need to get in touch.

Website does not work! I have tried to enter my details online with hasting Direct three times on different computers, the website just doesn't work. Get your act together Hastings, do you want business or not? This does not instil confidence in their products...

Avoid at all cost! Waited since June to be told in Jan that the £15 cashback would not be forthcoming due to the fact that I had used a comparison website to check prices before then going through TCB. Why the hell would I not! Absolute rubbish!

As always you get what you pay fore. I took out car insurance in September 2010, Good cash back tracked quickly and paid on time. I was involved in a not at fault accident, the other party agreed to give me a courtesy car, Hastings wanted a large sum of money to put the registration on my policy and remove it when my car was repaired. (A slightly more expensive policy would have not incurred that charge) also I was plagued with a solicitor wanting to make money from the third party.

I purchased Home Insurance in January and the transaction tracked ok, problems arised when it became payable the amount payable changed to zero. Seven months on there is no response from Hastings, purchase elsewhere!!!

As far As I am conceened don't use them, I have been into their website 5 times and tried to purchase car insurance and home insurance with the promise of the £35 cashback- Each time the process failed. I phoned them and they were more than happy to do it over the phone for a charge of £10 admin but they would not then confirm the cahback as they said it had to be done online - but I couldn't do it online as their link from TCB fails every time. Interesting to note also that they e-mailed me and using that link (without the referral link from TCB) the process works fine! AVOID AVOID AVOID
