On initial visit to Slough branch of Halfords I could not find an assistant other than on the check-out. However, when I returned later I was served by an assistant who was both knowledgeable about sat-navs and most helpful. After further research I visited the High Wycombe branch and again found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable.

Ordered a Garmin Satnav as unilaterally highly recommended in store. It had some nice physical features, but was worse than useless in all routing considerations. Visited store 8 times to try to change it. Kept getting fobbed off and told to phone Garmin. (They said they couldn't refund as I hadn't bought it direct, but to go back to Halfords and declare it "Unfit for Purpose"). This I did and was eventually allowed to trade it in for a trusted TomTom. I had to buy a much more expensive TomTom than I needed in order to use the cash - but at least it now gets me from A to B in a sensible fashion.

Ordered sat nav, arrived damaged. Had to return to store to be exchanged. Cash back didn't track . Had to put claim in. Eventually tracked 2weeks after claim.

Took ages for the payment to clear and then came back as £0. No reason for this. Don't bother if you are looking to buy becasue of cash back incentive seems to be no guaentee that they'll pay.

Reported to Trading Standards. Halfords refused payment for 10 months despite numerous promises to pay. The transaction even tracked at one point only to change to a value of £0.00. Halfords now deny the transaction ever happend. I intend not to use them again.

I used this when cashback was 6% and see now it's only 3% so not such a good deal but still, it's a discount on stuff you would be buying anyway. Their website was easy to use and I did the reserve and collect in store which was fab - no need to trudge round the store searching for stuff (and so no being tempted by stuff you don't need or finding what you want wasn't in stock) - it was all ready picked off the shelf by staff and waiting for me at the counter - even though I'd only ordered online half an hour before....allowing me to go straight in, pay and straight out. So retailer gets 5 stars...oh actually maybe they should get an extra star as even carried out to the car for me too! Cashback tracked really quickly......just wait to see how long it takes to confirm and pay out.....

All in all a ver good experience. Reserved on line for an in store pick up and received texts from them stating it was ready. went instore and found the items ready and waiting at the collection desk. Excellent deal as well as was 1/2 the price online compared to instore and then got the cashback on top too.

Absolute waste of time. I reserved the products and when I went into store they had not put them to one side. For half an hour I waited whilst a member of staff searched for the items. Needless to say they couldn't find them because they were not in stock Halfords reservation system is rubbish. (Thurrock)
