Hastings Direct Car Insurance Reviews

The “price was amazing” is how one of our satisfied members described the deal they got on their car insurance from Hastings Direct. Others describe their insurance as cheap and highlight how they had received a “great insurance deal”.

The easy application process also comes in for praise in Hastings Direct Car Insurance review feedback, as does their good customer service, while one member says they were very helpful following an accident. Members are happy with the good rate of cashback offered and the fact that it is paid on time, while one was surprised to receive a reminder that cashback was payable in their account.

Hastings Direct’s four-star rating on Trustpilot is largely down to people saying such things as “cheapest on the Internet” or “brilliant and easily the cheapest by miles”. Customers are also happy with what they describe as a reasonable excess and the fact their policy includes personal accident cover, while another was delighted to get good comprehensive cover at a reasonable price with lots of extras included.

One person who left feedback says Hastings beat their renewal quote by £500, while they are also thanked for always being friendly and helpful, providing a “great price for a young driver” and for the fact it is easy to manage a policy online. Other Hastings Direct Car Insurance reviews highlight how they are great at dealing with claims and that payment was authorised within nine days of informing them of an accident, as well as them being helpful when someone wanted to make a change to their policy.

I purchased my car insurance back in July 11. It tracked within the hour and it became payable 2 months after TCB estimated date in Jan 12. A little slow to recieve but well worth having.

Tracked and confirmed fine. Became payable 2 months after estimated date payable. Certainly not the best or worse company for paying cashback and as car insurance was cheapest anyway, all in all, very happy with Hastings.

12 months and still no cashback. They may be the cheapest insurer, but not good practice to offer cashback if you're not prepared to pay up.

Cash back tracked but not paid out after 20 weeks and 5 days. Topcashback unable to trace as over 100 days. Annoyed as no reason not to pay out.

Hastings came out cheapest when I did a comparison, so went through TCB to buy my insurance. At last minute, Hastings added a (minimum) £50 charge for legal /personal accident cover, with no way to opt out. So not the cheapest after all, plus I now have to do all the comparisons again. Feeling very annoyed, and I wouldn't be surprised if a company that uses these dirty tricks also don't pay out on cashback.

I am not happy, the cash back first showed on my account and then went to zero and after reading the info ie the insurance still had to be in effect after 3months , which it is, I thought I will wait a little longer and now I have waited to long. Top Cash Back cant track it as it is now over 100 days old and yet I had to wait 90days from Hastings. The only reason I used them was to get the cash back. Will not use again. Not worth it

Bought my car insurance back in July. It took about 5 months for the cashback to confirm and now it's January and I'm still waiting for the cashback to become payable. Topcashback's estimate of 20 weeks for cashback to become payable is extremely optimistic!

Really dissappointed and will not be purchasing through Hastings again. Comparision sites were cheaper than my final quote but with the £40 cashback this would have been the cheapest overall. Will go through comparison sites in future!!!

Obviously awaiting my cashback but dealing with Hastings was favourable with a certificate on insurance and all documents received electronically within 10 minutes or so of effecting the policy.

Dont bother with this outfit! The service if you make a claim is hopeless absolutely unprofessional and hopeless, they will offer you no where near the settlement you deserve if you make a claim and the phone manner is dreadful too. You might get your cashback? but do yourself a favour and get insurance with a reputable firm and forget chasing the cashback.

26/11/2011 - Bit miffed about Hastings - after spending an hour going through all their forms the payment page didnt work correctly so I ended up having to call them and go through all the same details again AND by the time all the data was re-entered the premium had risen £15 (in 30 mins?)!!! BE WARNED even if you opt for NCB protection your quote will take it off and you have to re-add it - think they do that to keep the premium as low as possible. Will be interesting to see if they honour the cashback :(

The cheapest insurance at the time of perches, cash back paid on time, I had a no fault claim later,told Hastings the other drivers insurance will pay plus give me a curtisy car. Hastings wanted a large sum of money to swap the cover over, so I declined the curtisy car, I guess you get what you pay fore.
