The easy application process also comes in for praise in Hastings Direct Car Insurance review feedback, as does their good customer service, while one member says they were very helpful following an accident. Members are happy with the good rate of cashback offered and the fact that it is paid on time, while one was surprised to receive a reminder that cashback was payable in their account.

Hastings Direct’s four-star rating on Trustpilot is largely down to people saying such things as “cheapest on the Internet” or “brilliant and easily the cheapest by miles”. Customers are also happy with what they describe as a reasonable excess and the fact their policy includes personal accident cover, while another was delighted to get good comprehensive cover at a reasonable price with lots of extras included.

One person who left feedback says Hastings beat their renewal quote by £500, while they are also thanked for always being friendly and helpful, providing a “great price for a young driver” and for the fact it is easy to manage a policy online. Other Hastings Direct Car Insurance reviews highlight how they are great at dealing with claims and that payment was authorised within nine days of informing them of an accident, as well as them being helpful when someone wanted to make a change to their policy.

did 2 car insurance policies - one in april 2010 and 1 in may 2010 - cashback offered for each one was £58 - the may one tracked and paid up but the 1st one never tracked at all and it took a whole year - all but 2 weeks - to get tcb to pay me- numerous nudges and comments to which few got replies - but eventually after persistance i finally got paid out a week ago - now im about to do the 2 cars again and hastings come up cheaper - not sure whether to use em again though.

Having purchased car insurance (badly) from another online merchant I needed to get my new car insurance right. And what a difference. Documents, readable, sent very quickly, and by mail in hard copy, as I prefer. At renewal they didn't assume I was a captive audience to be taken for granted and the renewal quote was very competitive. Last year I received cash back via this retailer, very generous, and this year too they had an offer. I declined their renewal and renewed thro Top Cash Back (wondering whether this would result in disaster with them cancelling my renewal as well as their quote). After a brief call to their freephone number they assured me they would cancel the quoted renewal offered and seemed to understand perfectly what was meant. And a few days later my topcashback renewal details arrived via post with cover note etc. Call centre appears to be based in UK. Another bonus! I have nothing but praise for Hastings Direct. I haven't had to claim thro them thankfully but cover seems pretty comprehensive.

I have been waiting since the the 8th October for my cash back still no sign of it.Never again with Hastings.Top cash back should remove them from there cash back site.

Still waiting for cashback after 6 months, I wont be using this company again. Its a shame you dont see these comments until after the purchase usually, it would have made me choose someone else.

Just an update for you all to AVOID this merchant ! Purchased car insurance 30.03.2010 . Tracked as 0.00 initially. Several conversation with TCB they finally infomred me that it was being processed on 20.01.2011. Still waiting for the cashback AVOID AVOID AVOID

No problems at all, tracked right away, became payable after the initial period, bit of a delay in payment -bought in April, paid september, but not really a bad wait. no problems with arranging an alternative car for a month free. About to check this years prices and would be happy to reuse them

I originally did a comparison price site search which threw this up as not the cheapest but in the top 10 so obviously I did not purchase this policy, but then I found it on this website and with the £58 cashback this made it a viable proposition so I purchased this through the cashback website, but that was in July 2010 still no cashback despite several nudges and now I have discovered they have used my quote reference number from the comparison site to sell this policy on to me, and not the cashback reference number although this was purchased through the cashback site. This is very underhanded of Hastings, so buyer beware I will certainly would not consider buying a Hastings policy again if they are going to do this!!

Do not bother! Ionly took out their car insurance policy becuase the £58 cashback rduced it so much - that was last April, initially it didn't appear,then when it did it didnt track, then it disappeared, it was resubmitted and I still haven't received it! Complete false offer, and I wont be using them again!

Good product but don't be fooled into thinking you will get cashback! House insurance tracked back in October but still (5 months later) not progreesed one bit. Car insurance did not track in November and I'm still waiting for it even to appear in 'Pending' I will certainly not use again if I expect to get cashback. Somehow I can't help feeling as though I have been diddled and perswaded to buy from them with a false promice.

Hastings were rubbish. Huge online form that appeared to open in a pop-up format, so one wrong click and you'd be starting again. Which I did, only to get an expensive quote. No thanks guys.

Tried to purchase car insurance, suffered the long winded process to the end to be told can't process, have to ring the call centre instead. Male driver in 30's, no convictions, accidents, 7yrs no claims etc driving a factory standard Ford Focus......what is so complicated that this can't be processed on the net?????? Very suspicious, think they don't want to pay cashback.
