As you can see from many other reviews, hotels.com often do not pay out on the cashback offers. BEWARE!

Reliable cashback
I usually book hotels with hotels.com purely for the fact that they are reliable with their cashback payouts through topcashback. I've used other hotel booking agents and they've denied all knowledge of my cashback claims which is very frustrating.

Slow but steady
No issues, great cash back rates. Took about 6 weeks to be Payable from date of hotel check out. Would happily use again.

Slow payout, try the site without going through topcashback
Pay out takes many months and they often say it "didn't track" resulting in no pay out.
Also check booking direct with the site as clicking through tcb seems to add the cashback % to the total (eg £450 via tcb, £400 direct).
Have used hotels.com for 10+ years and they are certainly not what they were (loyalty programme has gone to one tenth of its value as well)

waiting 10 weeks since 19th March 2024!! Still not received
I booked a hotel with Hotels.com on 19th March 2024, and I was informed of a 10 week wait for my cashback. I still have not received anything. Pretty hopeless.
I would not have given it any stars if I could have.

Great service from Hotels.com and topcashback. At the moment, have paid out every time. I always leave a review now when I have a pay out or not with any merchant.

Very poor - misrepresented cashback rate
Advertised cashback rate was not paid out - should have been 10% as advertised on the site at the time of click thru. But of course there's no way for customer to know that because months later the rates change and there's no historical record.
from TCB point of view its a get what you're given rate.

Far too slow to pay cashback
I booked my hotel in October 2023.
Holiday was in July 2024.
It's now the end of September 2024 and I've still not received the £200ish cashback.
Unacceptably slow!
Once money is taken for a non-cancellable holiday then cashback should be forthcoming. But at the very least it should be paid once the holiday is completed!

Rarely tracks
Very rarely tracks. 5 purchase in the last month and disputes have ad to raised on everyone.
Furthermore there is a very long wait time on those that do track to become payable

I find hotels.com generally tracks well. Yes, it takes a while to pay, but I don’t have an issue with that, so long as I get it.
Quick tip - if it hasn’t tracked within 24 hours, and you have a refundable room, cancel the booking, clear your cookies and history, and rebook. Seems to work every time And saves the hassle (and annoyance) of submitting a claim and not knowing if you’re going to get it.
