EDF Reviews

While some members who chose EDF to be their energy supplier have reported issues with their cashback, many members have left positive EDF Energy reviews, with some saying theirs was paid out faster than expected. Comments include “good cashback rate for switch over — two to three months to pay out” and “brilliant. Saved on dual fuel and cashback showed within five hours”.

Our members seem to love the company too. One said: “EDF have been very efficient and helpful in setting up my account and dealing with any queries or problems I have had.” Others praised the fact their site is easy to use and the switching process not confusing at all. EDF Energy review feedback includes “a very good service and an easy changeover” and “smooth transition from my previous supplier — kept me informed at every stage”.

The cashback I received from this merchant was part of the reason for taking up the offer (80GBP). There were a number of issues with receiving this Cashback partly because EDF didn't recognise the reference numbers they themselves gave me. However, TCB were persistent in submitting and resubmitting my claim to the Merchant and eventually I've been credited. I've just noticed the claim status is now "PAYABLE" so after a LOOOONG time coming it's finally completed. Thanks goes out to TCB for their assistance with this one!!

Quick update from me too. Similar experiences with this company it seems. On the plus side: while edf had lost all our online data when we first signed up, strangely the £80 cashback did eventually materialize, which admittedly does make it a good offer. However, seven months into our contract, and after multiple enquiries, our gas account is still not active on their system. Getting electricity bills only, with gas payments included on the electricity bill - big mess! Customer service friendly, but unable to resolve anything. Not recommended due to incompetence!

Easy transfer process from previous supplier - only had to take meter readings. More updates on progress of transfer would have been useful.

Although EDF's cashback is a bit on the low side, I am still of the opinion that TopCashBack is still the leader - as far as cashbacks are concerned.

I signed up in November for the £80 cashback. Changed over in December. Still no cashback!! It has never tracked, i put a request in to top cashback to chase but keep getting fobbed off saying they're waiting for retailer. Stop waiting and chase it!!!!

Signed up EDF Online Saver Version 7 on November 10 due to £80 Cashback and £100 credit. The switch over took place in January 11, I thought it would have been a bit earlier. Cashback was tracked pretty quickly without filing a claim after the switch over. £80 cashback had been paid to my bank and £100 was credit on the first bill. EDF customer service is pretty good, although there were numerous billing errors, the staffs resolved the problems without a fuss. Unlike the other big 6, EDF pushed up the prices from March 2011 while the others pushed up prices before the cold winter. Overall, I am very satisfied the switch. It's a shame they are no longer doing £80 cashback. I guess I switched at the right time.

Just an update on my situation with EDF energy. I have now received my second bill from EDF and the long awaited £100 welcome bonus finally appeared on that bill as two separate credits of £75 and £25 for electricity and gas respectively. There was also an extra page saying that they have reviewed my monthly direct debit and it will change from £66 to £68 on 28th March - still quite a bit low for my typical usage especially when you consider that this is supposed to cover both fuels - but what the heck! When I previously submitted my meter readings online it would only accept my electricity reading but this time it accepted both so they must have corrected something at their end - probably during the numerous occasions when their website was down for maintenance! Anyway, my cashback finally became payable just over a week ago so I requested a payment and I can confirm that it is now safely in my current account! Reading other people's comments about their experience with EDF it seems that I have been extremely lucky so far!

Signed up at end of November and got the higher rate of £80 cashback plus £100 credited to bills by EDF. Gas and electricity switched over from old supplier at the beginning of January, but oddly not on the same day, more like a couple of weeks apart. Cashback is now payable, so very happy with cashback experience. Having a bit of trouble though with EDF customer service and their online account system. Information about last meter readings etc is not complete, it still says they're waiting for my opening gas read, even though I've given it to them several times, and the direct debit hasn't been set up correctly. However, these are all EDF issues rather than cashback, and hopefully they should be sorted out soon. Is just a big contrast to my previous supplier, Scottish Power, where all info was readily available, they replied to any queries within 24 hours and problems were sorted quickly and efficiently.

Update to original comment back in November 2010. After tracking correctly with no problems, my £80 suddenly changed to £0.00 with no explanation?? I raised my concern with TCB and to this date am being told that TCB are waiting for the retailer to reply.....how long does it take really?? I would imagine at this rate not only will I have concieved, but given birth and sent my kids off to school before this finally reaches a satisfactory soloution. I would be VERY distrusting of edf offers in future. Also after giving my previous usage with BG and edf confirming how much I could save per month on my dd with them, i have just received my 1st quartly bill from them. Clearly the quoted monthly figures from them, were just a way to trap me into a contract, as I owe an additional £100+ on both gas and electricity.....probably the same if not more than i would have been paying to british gas. So feel well and truely cheated!

Got £80 cashback and it's payable today after a few months wait. I also received £100 credit for the energy as well. However, there were numerous billing errors on my first bill. It was easy to sort it out over the phone.

Update to comment 24/2. £80 today became payable. Cannot fault either TC or EDF (£100 credited to account ). A pity it doesn't seem to work out for everyone.
