Hastings Direct Car Insurance Reviews

The “price was amazing” is how one of our satisfied members described the deal they got on their car insurance from Hastings Direct. Others describe their insurance as cheap and highlight how they had received a “great insurance deal”.

The easy application process also comes in for praise in Hastings Direct Car Insurance review feedback, as does their good customer service, while one member says they were very helpful following an accident. Members are happy with the good rate of cashback offered and the fact that it is paid on time, while one was surprised to receive a reminder that cashback was payable in their account.

Hastings Direct’s four-star rating on Trustpilot is largely down to people saying such things as “cheapest on the Internet” or “brilliant and easily the cheapest by miles”. Customers are also happy with what they describe as a reasonable excess and the fact their policy includes personal accident cover, while another was delighted to get good comprehensive cover at a reasonable price with lots of extras included.

One person who left feedback says Hastings beat their renewal quote by £500, while they are also thanked for always being friendly and helpful, providing a “great price for a young driver” and for the fact it is easy to manage a policy online. Other Hastings Direct Car Insurance reviews highlight how they are great at dealing with claims and that payment was authorised within nine days of informing them of an accident, as well as them being helpful when someone wanted to make a change to their policy.

Cash back didn't track and after raising a claim, I have just heard that Hastings are refusing to pay cashback. Obviously disappointing as I was expecting £55 for a premium policy. It was taken out over a year ago and I didn't renew with them this year as their quote wasn't competitive. Didn't have to make a claim so can't review them on that aspect.

Switched to Hastings last October 11th - despite clearing cookies etc the cashback did not register as pending. However having experienced delays with other insurers (they wait until the policy is current and the cancellation period has expired) I did not follow up immediately: I now find that having waited more than 100 days TCB cannot pursue my claim.

Purchased car insurance on 8/12/14 and still haven't heard anything, doesn't even show as tracked. The date and time shown when i tried to log the claim was exactly the same as when i took out the policy. After reading recent reviews not holding out much hope.

Did not pay after taking out a Hastings Premier Policy back in September. Cashback was declined after 100 days so cannot lodge a claim for missing cashback. AVOID!

It has been nearly 100 days since the start of policy and so far no news about the cashback (still tracked and pending). For the transaction, I had even made sure that I disabled ad-blockers and cleared cookies prior to clicking through to purchase. Last year I had received cashback with Aviva relatively quickly. Without cashback, it would have been cheaper for me to renew with Aviva, so feel like I have been scammed. Based on the experience so far, seems I have made a mistake with Hastings this year. Very disappointed with Hastings and topcashback (have seen other reviewers here and does not seem like TCB has supported them against hastings). Avoid this insurance company.

Meant to be a 'quality insurer' - Rubbish service and declined cashback with no reason given. Renewal came through and they DOUBLED my premium so will never use again.

Transaction did not initially track and I put in a missing cashback claim for £38 which had to go 'on-ice' for 90 days due to Hastings validation period. After over 6 months my cashback was declined as it “Did not meet the terms and conditions set by merchant”. Asked Topcashback to further query this as my policy was still in force and as far as I could tell, I'd abided by all their terms and conditions. However as of October 2014, still no response or cashback forthcoming. Avoid if you expect a cashback payment!

Tracked but after five months, when you can't lodge a complaint anymore, the tracking has disappeared. I think looking at other reviews, it's a deliberate trick by the company. Is anything being done to deal with this sort of deceit?

Purchased Hastings car insurance on 4th oct still not tracked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! having same problem with other purchases waiting for TCB to sort all all out, wont be purchasing anymore unless sorted .

It has been over 5 months and still no pay out. Appalling performance, and I am not the only one experiencing this, I don't know whether it is TCB or Hastings since numerous nudges produced no response, the payout statistics can't be trusted.

I has been five months and no sign of any cashback. Tracking was fine but five months it is way to long. Quick to charge you for extras but extremely slow to pay out.
