The house insurance policy that i took out with M & S at the beginning of the year was far more reasonably priced than the similar Halifax cover i had at that time.
Having waited for the stipulated time the cashback that I was expecting wasn't showing on my account so i raised a claim.
After a further prolonged wait the cashback finally tracked and has now been credited to my account as payable.
In summary, I'm currently pleased with the product (i haven't had to make a claim) but the cashback process could be better.

It's now been a year since I bought this and no cashback. Don't touch this if you're doing it for the cashback, they don't honour it.

Terrible experience - quote was competitive but if you are wanting to use the cashback as the determining factor then don't. Transaction had been reported successfully but then nearly 4 months after the policy was activated the cashback has been reset to £0.00

I brought M&S car insurance 10 days ago, it had tracked by the following day at the correct rate. Policy documents were ready to download immediately and the certificate of insurance was received within 7 days as promised. The cover provided was extremely good and a competitive price, made better by the cashback. I felt very comfortable going with a household name. It was a very easy and efficient transaction.

Also purchased house insurance in December - changed to nil value when becoming payable. Would recommend avoiding if you are using cashback as part of the reason for purchasing from this retailer. Surprising as you'd think M&S is a reputable supplier.

Purchased home insurance in December, tracked immediately at £45 and has done until recently, when it's changed to payable at £0. Paid up front in full for insurance which is still running. Suprised at M&S.

Best price with cashback this time round was M&S. Getting paid to insure my mum's apartment is a bonus.

If you are considering buying M&S insurance using cashback, it may be worthwhile noting it took almost seven months for it to become available to me.
My car insurance was due at the beginning of October, I renewed in the second week of September. They say there is a 90 day validation period to ensure I don't cancel the policy, which is fair enough. This 90 day period commences at the end of the month which the policy starts, so that would be from the very end of October taking us up until the end of January.
Even then, once it became 'confirmed' on topcashback for me I still had to wait two months for it to become payable.
All in all, this was just short of seven months from buying the policy to receiving the cashback.

Simple transaction. Half the price of our previous home insurance. Think I will be waiting a while for the cashback though!

8 months after the transaction and I'm still waiting on it becoming payable. Avoid would be my recommendation if the cashback is the reason for selecting M&S as judging by other comments, it's unlikely to ever become payable...

Painfully slow. Took out insurance mid September to start at the beginning of October. Then there is a 90 day cooling off period so cashback is not open to abuse, but this 90 days starts from the end of the month the policy commenced, so that takes me from the end of October to the end of January. It now finally shows as payable but has sat there ever since, so I am still waiting for my cashback almost six months later. I would think twice before using again for cashback.
